Its amazing how many people want to buy a team that will never make a profit.

I'd buy the Prudential Center to rename it Hell, and it'd be worth it.

Never feel sorry for owners when they buy a team that's going to lose them money. next time the cba is up the new owner of the devils should have no say whatsoever because he knows he's losing money every year. But i'm sure he'll let lou be lou

Well this would be fine and all if the Devils were actually losing money. Also, do you really think taking voting power away from 1 team will change the course of a lockout?

Roger - Knowing what you know about this big time prospective buyer, is there any risk the team will be moved out of NJ? Always hate asking that question but it is always there and we all know why those Nordique fans invade the Pru Center at least once a season....it's not b/c they love hanging in downtown Newark.

Well, always the uncertain question.
BUT... knowing what I know the likelyhood of them moving is not there. The only reason I "guess" this is because this person grew up elsewhere but lives in NJ.

That is my "educated" guess. lol

Nordique fans "invade" mutliple cities, not just Newark. There is no chance the Devils are relocated. Not with a new building, a rich history, and a team that went to the finals just two years ago. It's not as easy to just force a team to pick up and go. The Thrashers might be an exception, but the talk of the Coyotes leaving has gone on forever and look how that turned out. Considering how the new divisions look, it would make perfect sense for the Panthers and Lightning to relocate before the Devils do.

ofcourse not, the same 5 owners will run the show again. just venting frustration on stupidity. its nothing against the devil players or lou, just makes no sense to buy that team unless you don't care about money. the team should be moved, as florida, phoenix and Nashville should be. Charles Wang is making a move, why can't the devils

So your saying I believe its 14 teams that lost money should be moved till they find a place that makes money without looking at operational income

oversimplification and not being 100% serious

Because they can make money in NJ its not like they are forcing a team to stay in NJ the way they are with Phoenix. Any time you have a successful team they will sell out right now the Devils might not be the team they where from 2000-2003 but when they bounce back the fans will be there hell they are even there now

Not happening.

So why not buy a team that has been in the black the last couple years and owns one of the most profitable arenas on the continent at the expense of some debt?

Also, Charles Wang is moving 10 miles west, not out of the market. Should the devils move back to east rutherford?

Obviously the Devils won't move. Wish I lived near there, buy tickets at the door for $10, you fellas are lucky. I have a lot of respect for the devils. And I get americans are huge on the bandwagon, they love watching winning teams, way it should be, you shouldn't be allowed to make money if you don't put a decent product on the ice...the leafs would be bankrupt if that was the rule. But in the end it's a bad business decision to buy that franchise.

You might want to send your resume to Josh Harris. He could probably use a new financial adviser.

Also, the Habs have some debt. Should we move them too?
